Enrolling your Child in
Halifax Co Public Schools
Students transferring to Halifax County Public Schools should enroll as quickly as possible. When you register your child, you need to take the following items:
Birth certificate
Immunization records
Social Security number
Withdrawal papers from the last school attended
Copy of last report card
Address of residency
The school in which your child is enrolling will send for a transcript from the previous school.
Students transferring from out-of-state or other school division in Virginia must meet certain state medical requirements. They include a complete physical examination by a licensed physician within the twelve-month period prior to enrollment and complete immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, rubella, red measles, and mumps.

Bus transportation is provided for all students. Contact Halifax County Public Schools Transportation Department at 804-572-4991 to receive information on which bus your child will ride after you obtain a permanent address.
